IIT Patna offers two-year M.Tech courses in multiple specialisations under 18 departments. Admission to the course is based on scores in GATE, followed by COAP counselling. Candidates must have a BE/ BTech/ BSc/ Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning/ MSc/ MCA/ MBBS/ MPharm/ BPharma/ BDS/ degree recognised equivalent to BE/ BTech with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD category). For M.Tech General-All India, cut offs for GATE 2024 closed off at score 600 for M.Tech in Chemical Engineering and 750 for Computer Science and Engineering. Similarly, for M.Tech in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, the GATE score closed off on 650. 

IIT Patna M.Tech dates are inclusives of GATE 2025 exam dates. The GATE COAP 2025 registration is open for the ME/MTech courses, and the deadline is May 15, 2025. Further, the GATE COAP 2025 round 1 window to view offers and take a decision will be opened on May 17, 2025  (10 AM).
