In order to secure a seat in IIT BHU, you have to initially show up in the concerned national level entrance test based on the course that you choose. In case of BTech, you are required to clear JEE Main and follow it through JEE Advanced and it requires a mark of at least 75 percent in Class 12. In case of MSc, admission is based on IIT JAM and later it is based on CCMN counselling. In the case of PG and Ph.D., GATE, CEED, and NET examination can be applicable, and the interview could be applicable in some cases.

The students can also apply to state and endowment scholarships as far as they are eligible. The SC/ST students can get reimbursements and allowance on mess fees and other necessities.
