According to the IIT BHU cutoff 2023, the closing ranks were  3358 and 3534, for the General AI category as per the first and last rounds.  BTech in  Electrical Engineering admission at IIT BHU is done through the JEE Advanced rank, followed by the JoSSA counselling process. GATE Qualifying Cutoff: It is minimum mark a candidate must score so that he or she is eligible for admission. But this does not mean that a candidate is selected for admission. Yes, IIT BHU offers Merit-cum-Means scholarships to 25% undergraduate students. Besides, there are several endowment scholarships offered by the Institute. Some other facilities are also provided to undergraduate students in the form of Institute free studentship, scholarships, reimbursement of mess charges and pocket allowances to the students belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. All the students (non-sponsored) admitted to M.Tech or MPharm programmes are provided financial assistance equivalent to the Junior Research Fellowships. The institute also offers a large number of Junior/Senior Research Fellowships to students admitted to PhD programmes.

The syllabus for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main examination is medium in the level of difficulty. The examination is based on class 11th and 12th syllabus of physics, chemistry and mathematics with some additional topics as well. The minimum eligibility for seeking admission for MTech in any field is normally BTech or BE or MSc in that particular field. In addition to this, the student has to appear for GATE which is the entrance exam a student has to clear for getting admission for MTech in any of the IIT's or even other institutions. Bachelor of pharmacy is not included in these criteria and hence it will not be possible for you to appear for GATE and seek admission for M.Tech in IIT BHU.

IIT Varanasi offers MSc in eight specialisations under two departments of Chemistry and Physics. The names of specialisations offered at the institute include Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Theoretical Physics, and Photonics.
