Hi,
Both NIT Agartala and NIT Rourkela are good. In case of CSE in NIT Agartala, Placements: Placement is not very much impressive. Because of its remote location few companies are willing to visit for campus placements. Placement for CSE branch is comparatively good. 90% of the job offers come from IT sector. Placement for non CSE branches are not good. Generally 2u20133 IT service based companies (like Infosys, IBM, Wipro, Tech Mahindra etc. ). Visit for mass campus drives. They hire like 70u2013150 people in a slot. Then some product based IT companies (like Samsung, Oracle, information edge etc. ). Also come. They hire like 2u20137 people in a slot. Then there are some other non IT companies like MuSigma, L&T, Kirlosker, Vedanta etc. Also come. PSUs also pay visit as well at the very end of the placement session. Overall placement for CSE is better. To get a good job you need to be in top layer of your branch. Its actually not so easy to get a job from NITA. But, each year the placement statistics is improving, average package is 6-7 LPA. Chemical Engineering is one of the oldest branches of NIT Rourkela. It has some of the best faculty members and infrastructure on campus. The department recently underwent a massive renovation and up-gradation providing it with infrastructure and logistics at par with international establishments. Placements are similar to other branches of NIT Rourkela. A lot of students undertake higher studies, in India and abroad, in fields such as Materials, Processing, Nanotechnology, Extraction etc. Many of them are pursuing their MS/MS-PhD in some of the most prestigious universities of the world. For more information regarding placements at NIT Rourkela, visit:

Hence NIT Rourkela is quite better than NIT Agartala. Thank you.

IIIT Delhi is good but its fee is very high. If we talk about government colleges, then IIIT Allahabad is the best government college and can be considered equal to good NITs. After that comes DAIICT Gandhinagar, IIIT Vadodara. Most of the IIITs are recently opened and are new, so they are not good enough.

There is uncertainty regarding any branch. Maybe you can get bio engineering but if you belong to SC or ST category you might get some core branches as well.

I would like to inform you that IITs and NITs both are very big names for B.Tech in India. In these institutions no matter in which part of India you are from you will do well.

If you fall under general category, then it is tough, but for other categories you might stand a chance.

No, first you are not qualifying the criteria for 10 + 2 percentile, and second you have to give JEE Mains for sure.

No, not at all, you have to apply for JEE Main to take admission in prestigious NITs, and even you are not following the percentile score for 10 + 2.

IIIT-Ranchi is newly constructed college. As far as NIT-Agartala is concerned, it is one of the oldest NITs. The other factor you can consider, is if you haven't got branch of your choice, then you can go for Ranchi instead of studying halfheartedly for Civil, but overall NITA is much better option.

Your rank is too low to get NIT. You have to satisfy with any government college or private college in your state. Try to get government colleges for this you can wait for 2nd round of counselling, if you won't get in first round.
