But I can give some suggestions as an alumni of metallurgical engineering from VNIT, Nagpur don't prefer MME instead opt for any circuit stream in the other college as per your preferences. Why I'm suggesting you is that there are no placements for metallurgist students since batch of 2013 to 2014 onwards there is no decent placement and everyone take the admission merely wanted to land with decent package after their graduation and no one rely wanted to learn the engineering subjects such a huge investigated of four years life and except some topper dudes 510% out of 100% of total strength of the distinct branches .
Basically MME comes under manufacturing sector like making gears and launching new machines for implementing the new innovative ideas to develop new technologies with help of producing quality and flawless output and making every customers compensations etc and its giving sounds good right and most of the manufacturing sectors must hire MME students but instead of hiring metallurgy students they are hiring Diploma and mechanical students.

Hi
It solely depends on you in which field you want to pursue your career. If you are interested for Food processing and want to discover the technology beyond it, you should opt for Food processing in NIT Rourkela. And if you are interested upon clothing and textile industry and technology behind that, then you should opt for textile technology. Hence you must decide in which field you are interested. Both are very different from each other and has their own importance in their respective fields. Both the fields are emerging more and more and their demand has also increased to the utmost level. NIT Rourkela has utmost importance for engineering and it is increasing more day by day. Some of the core companies visiting the campus for placement are Milk Mantra, IDMC, Tetra Pak, etc. Some of the non-core companies visiting the campus for placement are ZS Associates, TCS, EXL Services, Tredence, Affine Analytics, etc. The average package is 8LPA and the highest goes upto 10 LPA or more. All the best for future. Thank you

The placements from NIT Jamshedpur are well and quality oriented.
Though the placements from B.Tech are good, still the specialisation in the degree adds up to the chances of a quality placement.
The placement statistics from NIT Jamshedpur is around 8 Lacs per annum lowest being 3 lakhs and highest up to 15 lakhs in the computer science branch.
The data is extracted from the recent placement scenario.
One need around 240 marks in JEE Mains to get into NIT-Jamshedpur for computer science B.Tech (Hons.).
NIT Jamshedpur is though not that much vibrant when talked about its campus, but has a nice academic curriculum and appreciable support from staff and management regarding any difficulties. Being a government funded institution, the faculty members are well experienced and qualified which one need not to worry about.
Also, NIT stands at about 11th position among all so one can go for distance education but from the extreme points of India, as it will not worth sacrificing a lot for NIT Jamshedpur. Rather try to get any state government college which is feasible according to your location and comfort.

Like every college, NIT has its own web page, wherein they place the college academic details and also the placement statistics. Go through that.
