What's new at NIT Jamshedpur? JEE Main application form 2022 for session 1 has been restarted, the last date to apply is April 25. JEE session 1 exam is scheduled from June 20 to 29. 

NIT Jamshedpur admission 2021 is primarily entrance-based. National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur, was established as a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Bihar. The Institute adopts the MHRD, Government of India guidelines for admission to all academic programmes of the Institute. NIT Jamshedpur has 12 departments with seven Undergraduate (UG) programmes, 23 postgraduate (PG) programmes and PhD Programmes. The candidates are selected through national-level tests conducted by various authorities, like JEE Main, JEE Advanced, GATE, etc. The courses include BTech, MTech, MCA, MSc and PhD in the fields of Engineering, Science, and Computer.

NIT Jamshedpur MSc Admission 2022

CCMN-2020 is a common platform for candidates to apply for MSc admissions to NITs and CFTI, based on their IIT JAM score of the year 2020. The seat distribution is done in the accordance with Centralised Counselling plan at NIT Jamshedpur.






Candidates should have passed and secured 60% aggregate in Class 12 with BSc in relevant stream.



NIT Jamshedpur Admission 2022: Other PG Courses

NIT Jamshedpur offers many PG courses that include MTech, MSc, and MCA. Some are MSc, MBA, MHRM and LLM. Candidates are required to appear for the relevant entrance exam/written test. Admission to all these courses is based on respective entrance exams, followed by a seat allotment-cum-counselling round. The duration of the PG course is of two years. NIT Jamshedpur offers an MCA course that is a three year (six semesters) full-time course. After the completion of the MCA programme students are recruited to reputed organizations, such as IBM, AMDOCS, TCS, SATYAM, PCS, HCL, WIPRO, HUGES, TATA STEEL, and many others.

The programme is offered in the following two categories at NIT Jamshedpur:

  • Institute Research Scholar (RS) which is a stipendiary.

Online experience is good and don't know about college life and hostel life .

Placements: Those who are aware got placed. This year a very satisfactory number of students got placed. Last year civil placement is low comparatively, CSE, ee, ECE is too good in number of students placed. Anyone can shift there branch in second year of having 9+ CGPA in first semester.

This college provides good placements and infrastructure.

Placements: In this pandemic, our college has record-breaking placements. If I will talk about the mechanical 2021 passout batch, the highest salary package offered is 16 LPA, and the average salary package offered ranges from 7 LPA - 8 LPA. The lowest salary package offered ranges from 6 LPA - 7 LPA. Almost 37 students are placed in computer science. The highest salary package offered in computer science is 37 LPA.

Best in palcenments and best in infrastructure.

Placements: Placements in 2021 are good with placements about 91.6 %. I am from ECE from our branch in 2021 more than 96%students got placed. IN CSE it is even more placements with 100% placements. The highest package in our branch is 30 LPA and the average package is about 16.5LPA. Top recruiting companies are amazon, capgemini, infosys, wipro, ola, flipkart. 30% students got internships.

In upcoming years, it will be having a very good NIRF ranking.

Placements: ECE branch in NIT Jamshedpur has a great placement per cent. About 96% of students have been placed. And many more are about to place. The highest CTC this year for ECE branch is 30 lacs per year and the minimum CTC for the top 50% students is about 17 lacs. About 10 lac of mean CTC is for the whole college this year.

Amazing faculty members and astonishing infrastructure.

Placements: 65 students out of 71 eligible students from the MME branch were placed with a placement percentage of 91.65%. The highest package offered to an MME student was 11.3 LPA and the mean CTC being 6.07 LPA. Top recruiters for MME course were TATA, Vedanta, EXL and many more. 20-25% of students (my seniors) secured internships in many reputed companies.

Go for ECE at Jamshedpur as it is one of the prestigious colleges in India. The average package is around 16 lacs per annum.

Hey Dhinesh,
You can opt for ECE in NIT Jamshedpur as it is an old and prestigious college of India. Average package is around INR 16 lacs.
Average package for CSE in IIIT Jabalpur is around INR 9.1 LPA

I have 423 score in GATE 2021. Can I get admission in NIT Jamshedpur? I belong to OBC category.

For OBC, Generally more than 300 is sufficient to get into Nits but depends on which branch you want to get in. For CSE branch minimum 473, For ECE 352 etc. Hope this will help you. Thank you !
