To prepare well for the PU UGLAW exam, candidates will have to have a strategised approach towards the exam as follows:
- Make a list of important topic
- Collect the question papers and sample papers
- Refer to the best available books and make short notes
- Read currect affairs and GK based questions daily
- Solve question paper for other national level exam such as CLAT, AILET, etc.

The entrance test for admission to the BA LLB and BCom LLB at the Panjab University is considered to be of moderate level. The questions asked in the PU UGLaw entrance exam are asked from current events. However, to crack the exam in first attempt, candidates must refer to the best books and along with that practice question papers to get an overall idea about the exam. With the right preparation material and strategy, cracking PU UGLaw will be easy.

In PU UGLAW exam, 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer and candidates will be awarded 1 mark for each correct answer. Therefore, candidates appearing for the PU UGLaw exam will have to be careful before attempting the question paper as any wrong answer may lead to negative marking in the exam. There will be around 100 questions divided among various sections in PU UGLAW exam.

- Word Usage
- Vocabulary
- Grammar
- Synonyms
- Antonyms
- Critical Reasoning
- Para Jumbles
Canddates must refer to the best books to prepare for this section along with practicing the previous year questions. Some of the best books for English and Verbal Reasoning section are: Objective General English by S.P. Bakshi, Word Power Made Simple by Norman Lewis, High School English Grammar and Composition by Wren and Martin.

The PU UGLAW Question paper will comprise the questions in GK and Currect affairs from the following topics: Currect and important developments in the areas of sports, geopolitics and important international agreements, UN bodies, Eminent personalities, Geographical event, Awards and honours, etc. Since this section will cover around 60 questions in the entire question paper, aspirants must practice as many questions from the sample papers and previous year papers as they can. At the same time, read newspapers and magzines for current events and updates.
