<p>The university may follow a seat reservation. Total 25% seats are reserved for Uttarakhand domicile students. However, whether the reservation applies for UG or PG courses is not officially mentioned by university. Seat allotment is done by university on the basis of GATE scores.</p>

The university allocates seats on the basis of merit score in entrance exam. Moreover, students can also appear for Q-CARE exam for scholarship. <p>The GATE exam is conducted in the month of February. Registrations can be done on respective website. The application forms are generally out in last week of August. The application fee is INR 1,000 (female/SC/ST/PWD) and INR 2,000 (Male/General/OBC/EWS). Students have to register separately on university website as well for admission in MTech.
