It's very nice to know your ambition of joining IIT Kanpur for your graduation in aerospace engineering after completion of your diploma. IITs indeed take students for their graduation programs but here diploma is treated as equivalent to 12th and whatever rules are applicable for JEE mains and JEE advanced for 12th or applicable for diploma also. Sorry to inform you, but admissions are not possible in IITs without securing a rank in JEE Advanced and JEE Mains for NITs respectively. JEE Mains and Advanced are excepted only in case for foreign nationals/NRIs which need to submit their SAT/GRE score for UG/PG course respectively. Hope this answers your questions.

Yes, as per the JOSAA criterion of the year 2017, you need to score atleast 75% to be eligible for the counselling of NIT's . So, you need to have 75% atleast to get a seat into these prestigious colleges.

Some good engineering colleges such as DTU, NSIT, IIITs, etc., accept JEE Mains scores. Therefore, you are advised to appear for JEE Mains. You are advised to appear for BITS, VIT or Manipal University's engineering entrance examinations to join engineering course. In India! While admission to your Bachelor degree, what matters is your Class 12th marks and the score (or rank) you obtained in the Entrance Exam. The BITSAT scores are not considered for admission into IITs. Only the JEE Advanced scores and your ranks determine your admission into IITs. I think you can get IITs, but if you don’t, then go for BITS as you are saying that you are having a good score in BITSAT.
Both are almost equal but BITs Pilani is a private university, whereas IIT is a government one so fee structure will be a huge difference.

BITS, CIT, SRM, LNMIT and Thapar are equally good.

Well, you are still in 10th. For getting into highly advanced programme, you need to pass 10+2 with atleast 60%. If you still want to enter into any of the engineering fields just after 10th, go in for Diploma. The three year Diploma can lead you to either get a job or you can go into the lateral entry programme of B.Tech in your field. The choice is yours.
