No, its not true. You need not to pay extra other than your fees.
Hi Faizan,There nothing like a particular CGPA to qualify GATE exam. GATE itself is an exam, which you need to clear with good scores. If you want to take admission in IIT Madras, then work hard to score good rank under 1000. Also, try to maintain a percentage of 65% throughout the semesters. Although, you should score more and more marks in semesters. It will give a positive impression of your on the interviewers. Best of luck.
JEE Mains will allow you to take admission in state government colleges and NITs. For IITs, you need to crack JEE advance. You need to score above 180 marks in JEE Advance for IIT – Kharagpur, if you belong to SC category.
All the best.
I'm not sure about the scores as they vary every year. I may give you a list of the ranks that you need to secure. Since IIT-Bombay is one among the top IITs in India, your rank should be at least below 2000 or 3000 (for general category).
 Hello,
You have to give JEE advanced to get admission in any IIT.
Under 4500 rank (not considering any branch) in JEE advance can give a seat in Bombay. For that, you need to more than 40% marks.
You need a B.Tech degree to apply for GATE. GATE is an exam for the Master’s Degree.
The admission in both (IIST& IIT) are based on ranks obtained in JEE Advanced (Conducted among the JEE Main qualifiers). Candidates who are desirous to join the Undergraduate and Dual Degree Programmes offered by IIST are required to apply separately to IIST through the online application portal (<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://admission.iist.ac.in" style='word-wrap:break-word;'>http://admission.iist.ac.in</a>) and complete the registration and fee payment process. Further both IIST and IIT-B are premier institution of National importance, Hence no comparison can be made.

All the best.
It's not necessary actually. It's bifocal subject. You have other options as well like Electronics, Scooter Science, etc. But, most preferred option in CS as you can score more marks easily in it.
