Honestly speaking if really want to go to very good college then try to give GATE and score better. These days there are number of private engineering colleges in market. But quality of education is not good in majority of colleges. Therefore, I would highly recommend you to give GATE examination and then get admitted to any top tier college for M.Tech. program.
Hope it guides you.

Hello Prahalad,
Yes, you can do it. But you cannot get IITs, NITs, IIITs, GFTIs. These colleges are better than some engineering colleges in India so they admit only based on JEE Mains and Advanced but you can do your B.Tech by scoring good in board exams.
For M.Tech. you are advised to write GATE exam as you can get a good college for M.Tech with it.
All the best!

Admission to Delhi Technological University (DTU) for BTech programs is determined by JEE Main scores, and JAC Delhi handles the entire counselling process. Entrance examinations at the national and university levels, including UCEED, GATE, CAT, MAT, and CMAT, are the basis for DTU admission to all remaining courses. A few BBA and MBA specialty courses do exist, nevertheless, and admission to them is determined by a previous qualifying exam (UG level) and an interview phase. Candidates must apply online by completing the application completely and paying the application cost on the university's official website.

Since you are not from Delhi region, it is going to be tough competition for you, the minimum marks that you should score for getting the branch automotive engineering is around 160 in JEE Mains examination, if you want branch like CS, then you should score above 200 to be on the safe side now after getting your result you have to apply for the JAC counselling to get admitted.

You will surely benefit from your home state quota and OBC NCL for admission to DTU via JEE Mains. Home state quota is the admission of those students whose 12th grade they have done in that respective state. Preference is provided to the candidates during their admissions, and they get lower ranks compared to others in the case of home-state quota admissions. In the case of an OBC-NCL, he will benefit from the reservation through quotas, which is, as defined, a percentage of seats reserved for the exclusive advantage of the OBC candidates.
