Candidates seeking admission to BTech at IIT Gandhinagar are expected to qualify both JEE Main and JEE Advanced and further go through JoSAA counselling to secure admission. However, getting final admission only on the basis of JEE Main score, is not possible. Additionally, to be eligible for the BTech programme, candidates must have passed their Class 12 with 75% aggregate. Hence, while JEE Main is the most important starting point to get into IIT Gandhinagar for the flagship course, it is not the only criteria for it.

You cannot get admission in IIT on the basis of JEE Mains, but clearing it is an eligibility criterion for taking JEE Advanced which is the exam for getting into IIT.
For JEE Mains, you need a minimum of 100 marks to stand a chance, but you are still not in the safe zone.
As every year the cut-off revolves around 100.
For Advanced, the max. rank to get IIT-Kanpur or Kharagpur is 30K to 35K but then too you have to compromise with the branch.

Hello Harshit,
The total marks of JEE advanced exam varies every year. So with respect to the previous year admissions, I may tell you in terms of ranks.
Your category rank should be below 500 so that you can get a seat at IIT-Kharagpur.

IITs are surely the dream of millions. But it is a general misconception that IITs are for only B.Tech and M.Tech courses. A candidate who has completed his/her B.Sc can also get admission in the IITs for the masters. For this, they have to qualify the IIT JAM exam.
The IIT JAM is conducted each year for those who want to get admission in the IITs after their B.Sc in the courses like physics, maths, chemistry, biological sciences etc.
