Yes, NEET UG is compulsory for admission to every MBBS college in Maharashtra, whether government or private. There is no alternate entrance route for MBBS admission anywhere in India. After qualifying NEET, students need to go through either the All India Quota counselling or the Maharashtra state counselling process. Without a valid NEET score, admission to any recognised MBBS college is not possible.

Maharashtra has government scholarship schemes for MBBS students. The schemes operate through the MahaDBT portal, and are for reimbursing fee payments for underprivileged students. The scholarship has family income limits, approximately INR 8 Lacs per annum. The eligibility criteria are further that the student is a Maharashtra domicile holder and has been admitted into a course through the state counselling. Top performing students can also seek merit based scholarships at many private colleges.

To join the MS course at PGIMER Chandigarh, you must hold a valid MBBS degree and finish your mandatory internship. Your medical college must be fully recognised by the National Medical Commission. You cannot secure a seat while your degree or internship is still pending. The institute checks these academic credentials strictly during the counseling process.

Absolutely yes. NEET-PG does not discriminate based on where you did your MBBS. Whether you studied at a premier government medical college or a private self-financed college, you write the same NEET-PG exam and compete on the same merit list. Your NEET-PG rank is all that matters for seat allotment. Many students who studied MBBS in private colleges have secured MD seats in top government institutions purely on the strength of their NEET-PG performance. This is what makes NEET-PG a truly merit-based and democratic process, your college of origin does not define your future.

Yes, most medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh, both government and private, provide hostel accommodation for students. Government college hostels are very affordable and are often located within the campus or nearby. Private college hostels vary in quality and amenities but are generally comfortable. For female students, separate hostel facilities with security and warden supervision are mandatory as per NMC norms. Hostel fees are charged separately from tuition fees.
