The cut off of Abacus Institute of Engineering and Management also changes annually depending on the entrance exam (WBJEE or JEE Main) as well as the engineering branch in which the academic takes place. In WBJEE 2024 closing ranks of the General All India category were approximately 43,250 (Electronics & Communication Engineering) to 109,244 (Civil Engineering) in the final round. CSE is usually more competitive since it has a higher cutoff. JEE Main cut offs are also provided and they are normally numerically greater.

The admission criteria into Abacus institute of engineering and management under B.Tech course is application based on the scores you get in WBJEE or JEE Main. Although cutoffs are not very high, as compared to the best universities, it differs according to branch and year. In sought after courses such as CSE, the competition is more. They can also be directly admitted in the vacant seats or be taken as a lateral entrant with Diploma marks usually being taken into consideration. In general, it is a rather competitive college.

In the case of Diploma courses direct admissions usually depend on class 10 th school examination marks especially on seats that are vacant following the JEXPO counselling.
