Yes if you wish, you can pursue B.Com from an open university but please remember that a degree from open University does not have much value in the market. If you wish to look for a good job after completion of your graduation, it is essential that you pursue your Bachelors degree through regular mode only.

B.Com is one of the graduation streams most commerce students opt for. Today, after completion of graduation, there are countless career options one can opt for. However, only having a graduation degree in commerce does not solve the purpose. To face the severe competition in the world, and to assure a decent job, one further needs to opt for either post-graduation or a professional course. It is totally upto your interest. Both of the fields will require some amount of basic maths but nothing complex. For CS course, only foundation course has maths. For MBA, again there is little maths and calculations involved, especially if you want to specialize in finance. Else, if you wish to skip maths throughout, you can opt for MBA in Human Resource or Marketing. You can also explore the new and upcoming fields for MBA like MBA in Travel and Tourism, Event Management, Retail Management, E-Business etc.

Maths is not an eligibility criteria for pursuing CA but the course itself involves some amount of maths, especially the foundation and final level. So, a good base in math would help you immensely in the subjects of Financial Management. But again, you don't have to have maths subject in your 10+2 to apply for CA exam. Alternatively, you may opt to apply for CA after completing your graduation. This way, you will be exempted from the foundation course and can skip studying maths in at least the foundation course.

Generally, it is not compulsory to have maths in order to pursue B.Com. Although it is a mandatory eligibility criteria if you wish to pursue B.Com (Hons) but not for B.Com general. Yet, I would suggest you to contact the college directly for a clear and precise information as the eligibility criteria might differ from college to college.
