In India, several technological universities including the IITs offer courses in aeronautical engineering, both at undergraduate and post-graduate level. The basic eligibility criteria for BE / B.Tech programme is 10+2 Science (Physics, Chemistry and Maths) with a fairly high percentage of marks in the aggregate. One must pass the qualifying exam i.e. IIT-JEE for admission into Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) or the SRMJEE to apply to the aerospace engineering programme they have. Hello Mayur,It is indeed heartening to know your dream of joining the premium institute of India. You have already won half the battle.
IITs do not give lateral admission. However, they accept Diploma as equivalent to class 12th. Hence, you need to score 75% marks or more in your Diploma, amd then clear JEE Mains followed by JEE Advanced.

Hello Aashirbad,
Invariably all states have restricted admissions to engineering colleges in their states to domiciles of that state. You are from Odisha and hence I don't think that you are eligible.
But, can I ask a query? There are many colleges in Odisha and almost 35% seats were unfilled last year. What is the hesitation in seeking admission?

Hello Yaswant, It's very nice to know your dream of becoming an aeronautical engineer. But unfortunately Tamil Nadu government or for that matter normally any state government does not permit students from other states to join in degree colleges of their states. Hence even though you may be technically eligible, I doubt if you can get admission there. Your best chance is college in your state or study hard and get admission in IIT which treat Diploma as equivalent to 12th.

Hello,
From this year onwards, admissions in engineering colleges in TN will be based on marks obtained in 12th. But you will have to register online with TNEA.
