No, you can't. Having maths as a core subject in class 12th along with Physics and Chemistry is one of the key requirements for eligibility in a UG level Aeronautical Engineering course.

Graduates can work as aerospace engineers, avionics engineers, or aircraft maintenance engineers in aviation and defence companies. Some also work in research roles focused on aircraft design, propulsion, or aerodynamics at organisations like ISRO and DRDO. Others jobs, which students can choose, are drone technology, aviation safety, or airline operations.

For those students who love space science, the answer is definitely yes. Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, is seen as the best institute for Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering in India. It is the only college that gives exposure of space research and ISRO internship, with proper training not found in any other college. The BTech course facilities at IIST tend to offer an average package of ₹16.60 LPA. One cannot afford to miss an opportunity to appear for admission because it depends mainly upon JEE Adv score and is a competition for best aspirants.

There are no IITs that provide Aeronautical Engineering. The best IITs (IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur and IIT Kharagpur) offer Aerospace Engineering, which is a bigger system than Aeronautical Engineering (including both aircraft and spacecraft). To apply to a top IIT you will need a good rank for the JEE Advanced exam. The best options for Aeronautical Engineering (into a purely Aeronautical Engineering program) in India are IIST Thiruvananthapuram, MIT Manipal and Amity University Noida.

JEE Main, JEE Advanced, MHT-CET, TNEA, KCET, COMEDK UGET, and MET (MIT Manipal's Entrance Exam) are the most popular entrance exams for BTech Aeronautical Engineering in India. A few private colleges such as Amity University Noida also take admission via interviews, so one can get admission without a JEE score. There are more than 80 private engineering colleges that accept merit-based applications.

The top aeronautical engineering college in India must provide the following campus facilities: suitable aeronautics and aerospace laboratory, wind tunnel and flight simulators, hangar and aircraft maintenance workshops, final computing and CAD/CAM facilities, placement and training cell between students, sports room and study room, and hostels. Always check whether the college has real flight simulators, aircraft models for hands-on training, and direct industry connections for internships. A college without proper practical labs will leave you weak on the skills that employers actually look for.

Yes, absolutely, ISRO is one of the top dream employers for Aeronautical Engineering graduates. An entry-level Scientist/Engineer-SC at ISRO typically starts with a gross salary per month of around INR 84,000 (including allowances), which translates to an annual package of INR 10–12 LPA. ISRO recruits aeronautical engineers for roles in satellite design, spacecraft development, propulsion, and mission operations.
