There are about 60 seats available for the Agriculture Engineering specialisation at GBPUAT. The department of Agriculture Engineering is further divide into 4 courses. They include Farm Machinery and Power Egineering, Irrgation and Drainage Engineering, Post-Harvest Process Food and Engineering, Soil and Water Conservation Engineering.

No, graduates from Diploma in Agriculture Engineering cannot gain direct entry to B.Tech CSE based on Andhra Pradesh ECET (AP ECET). Andhra Pradesh ECET admits Diploma holders on a lateral basis (second year direct admission) into B.Tech courses but only up to related branches of engineering.

There are a total of 422 Agriculture and Farm Engineering colleges in India, out of which 286 are private, 95 colleges fall under the jurisdiction of the government and the rest 6 are public-private. The BTech Agricultural Engineering syllabus is not similar for all colleges and universities in India. Every institution has a certain set of curriculum guidelines that they follow and set the syllabus in that manner. But, the general topics covered in Agricultural Engineering classes are usually the same.

It is not compulsory for you to give an entrance exam for admission to Agricultural Engineering courses after 12th. Several reputed colleges and universities in India also admit students on the basis of the marks secured by them in Class 12 board exams. They usually take further assessment rounds like PI and GD in such cases.

You can work hard for your board examination, score excellent marks, and apply to Agriculture Engineering colleges that offer merit-based admissions. You must check out for such colleges well in advance and then decide accordingly.
