Most of the Agricultural Engineering universities want students to be at least 17 years old at the time of taking admission to BTech/B.E in Agriculture and Farm Engineering courses. Apart from the lower age limit, a few institutions also have upper age limit restrictions, that of 22 years. Further, the student seeking admission must be medically fit to pursue the course.

It varies from one college to another. Every institution has their own admission procedure that they follow for providing admission to Agricultural Engineering courses at various levels. The time involved in the entire process may take a few weeks to a few months. There are a lot of formalities before you are allotted the final seat and your admission is confirmed so you must stay patient during the entire process and keep an eye on all the important admission-related events of the colleges you are targeting.

Generally, after the declaration of the entrance exam results, you need to apply in the virtual mode for the counselling process of the colleges you wish to apply to. Do upload all the necessary documents and submit the counselling fee. Then, you will get a confirmation mail or message from the universities' end after your documents are successfully verified, which happens mostly within 24 hours.

In order to secure admission to Agriculture Engineering courses at popular colleges in India, you must meet the minimum eligibility requirements. For UG-level courses, you must secure at least 50 to 60% marks in Class 12 in the PCM/PCMB subjects. For reserved category candidates, the marks eligibility requirement is usually relaxed by 5%. Further, you have to appear for the entrance exams. You must secure a good rank in the same as it serves as the final call for admission.

The course duration of Agricultural Engineering courses varies depending the course level. For UG-level Agricultural Engineering courses, the duration in India is 4 years in general. Further, for PG-level courses, the duration is 2 years. If you want to enter the work field at the earliest, you also have the option of going for a diploma in Agricultural Engineering right after completing your Class 10, which is 3 years long.

Moreover, a PhD course in Agriculture Engineering can be 3 years to 6 years long, depending on your research topic and the college from where you are pursuing the course.
