Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is a state level examination, conducted by Anna University for admissions to M.Tech/ M.Arch/ M.Plan/ ME/MBA and MCA, in different colleges in Tamil Nadu. The exam is usually conducted in the month of June every year. The Government of Tamil Nadu has authorized Anna University for conducting the exam on behalf of the Government. The online registration for TANCET commonly begins in between March and April. TANCET application forms are accepted in online mode only.

It is very nice to know your dream of pursuing engineering in aeronautical branch from Madras Institute of Technology. But unfortunately, majority of states in India restrict admissions to domiciles of the state and, hence it is almost impossible for students from other states to get admission. Yes, you can just check whether they provide lateral entry or not, and is there any kind of entrance exam for it. Most of the colleges in India provide lateral entry.

If you think so. It is best for you because no one thinks better than you for your future.
But my suggestion is that if you prepare for CAT and then take admission in a college for MBA through your CAT rank as it will benefit you more.
