There are a few eligibility criteria that must be fulfilled in order to secure admission to BA Archaeology programs at most of the government or private universities in India.

  • Students must have passed their class 12th board exams in any stream from a recognized university of India.
  • Students must have secured at least 50% marks in their 12th class marksheet.
  • Many universities provide 5-10% relaxation to the reserved category students in their 12th class marksheets.
  • As such, there is no age limit specified.

Hi. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in the relevant discipline of archaeology, ancient history, or a field allied to it. At least a 55% on their qualifying exams. In order to get admitted, some universities require CET clearance followed by an interview, both of which the applicants must pass.

It would depend on the type of Masters and the university policy. In most popular Colleges that would not be possible because they prefer students with course background. But you could get into many other colleges that may not be very popular

You can go for Post-Graduation Diploma in Archaeology. The basic eligibility condition is graduation, and a civil engineering graduate can further go for this. You can start your career in this field. Archeology is the study of human history and prehistory through the execution of sites and the analysis of artefacts. This is a good option for other graduates from my opinion, you should not go for this. You should have to stay with civil engineering. This is really a good stream, and you can get more opportunities in this rather than archeology.
