My point, architects and civil engineers are different, make different things and have different specialties, their fields cross paths all the time, but they are not the same. They can do more or lest the same things but that does not means they have the same qualifications.

Both civil engineering and architecture are two completely different courses, though I accept that the outline of both courses are seen by many as same. It's a really good thought process stimulated by you. In architecture, throughout India, at least 20% of the syllabus is comprised of structures (civil engineering).

But in Architecture, individual talent excels and will has greater payback than anything else. It is just like an artist whose value increases with talent and accomplishments.
Higher Management also has more good pay and perks.
Engineering pay packages is related to the type of work you do and for whom you do it.
So, there is no upper limit of how much you can earn, it all depends on how excellent you are in what you do, and external factors also play a huge role.
