It's good that you would like to pursue animation but I would always suggest animation depends on how much creative you are. However, there are plenty of good institutes who offer animation course.

I personally do not see much worth in it. Instead, opt for being a trained coach in the field of sports. You need not be a top class player of that sport for becoming a coach of it.

I would suggest you go for a short term course first and then decide whether it interests you or not. The best thing would be not leaving engineering in a jiffy as changing careers can sometimes lead to a bad choice.
