Yes, India is developing at a very high rate in terms of foreign industry investments. The automotive sector is one such field of engineering which has a never-ending number of opportunities, not only in India, but all over the world.
India is one of the largest automobile manufacturers in the world fabricating nearly 30 million vehicles per year. So that shows the clear picture of the automobile industry in India.
I am not exaggerating, but it is a fact that there are about 100+ manufacturing plants in India, and still many more brands are planning their establishment in the Indian market. It is an evident point that it has a very good scope in India.
What about the automotive service sector? The answer is plenty.
There are very good opportunities in the government sector.

Having fascination about the automobiles and actually designing them is a cumbersome task to do. But to be honest, if you want to become a good automobile design engineer, you should start studying how the automobile systems works and how you can set all the parameters requires designing an automobile. Just for an instance, I want to design a race car for a famous American track circuit. So, for that, I will have to keep positive camber instead of the conventional negative camber in the race cars as this circuit is circular and while moving in, my tyres try to roll straight due to the centrifugal motion and if I am taking a turn I need a maximum grip of the tyres for stability or cornering at higger speeds. So, this is just one minute example.
