There is no option of lateral entry in AME for BE holders or for anyone for that matter. You will have to enrol from the beginning and complete the entire course like a fresher to become an AME.

Ground Jobs usually do not have any age limits. If the candidate is experinced than the induction becomes even more easy.
Not only airlines but there are various other aviation service providers who have been hiring people with good communication skills and personable looks.
There's no harm in aspiring for such a profile.

Both of them are premier institutions of India. IGRUA and NFTI both share similar training module and fleets. So an aspirant coming from any of them will hold equal weightage for the recruiting organisation. But my personal favorite is still IGRUA.

Diploma in customer service is better of all. Because for all the airlines the customers are assets and any staff member who is trained and educated to bond those customers with the airline will always be needed.
Customer Satisfaction in terms of comfort, punctuality, dependability, affordability, availability and readiness is always the airlines first priority.
So I feel a course which helps you learn all these tactics will be more helpful than any other.
