You are advised to appear for Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination conducted by UPSC to join as an Officer after BA honors economics. You will not be eligible for training at IMA as a women candidate. You will be trained at OTA-Chennai. If you have NCC C certificate, you can directly appear for service selection board by processing application via Directorate of NCC under the Ministry of Defense.

Guide-Level 14

Rather than government colleges, you must ask for universities because not many colleges provide mass communication.
IAS/ Civil services are a good option for humanities, and that too for leading social sciences. Mass communication student will has one positive point over others in IAS that, he will have good knowledge of current affairs.

Dear,
If you want to start preparations for IAS from the 1st-year than you can think of these options:
Political Science
History
Sociology
Philosophy
But you can think of these programmes in regular mode as your plan-B for your career if you are not able to clear IAS:
BA LLB
Psychology
Journalism
Special education
English (Hons.)
So choose the right way for your future.
All the best!
