Yes, you can study literally anything you want if you are truly interested in it. You can pursue interior designing however for admissions universities will ask for a portfolio or sample of your work. Go for it if you are interested to have a career in interior designing and if you believe you have the creative side in you.

The curriculum of both the courses are absolutely same. So, there is no major difference between the two. It's just the names that differs in different institutes.
Since, both the courses are same, both will serve the same purpose. All that depends is the college or institute that you are pursuing it from.
