BFTech stands for Bachelor of Fashion Technology and on the other hand BDes stands for Bachelor of Design. Although both Fashion Design as well as Fashion Technology are a part of the same stream. But there is a fundamental difference between the two. Fashion Design basically deals with creating new design pieces which can be anything like apparel, accessories or even a fabric.

No, candidates who are looking for BDes course admission at NID Jorhat must sit and appear for DAT. Design Aptitude Test or DAT is that part of design exams that checks the creativity of the candidates. It is not easy to crack DAT section in a short period of time. One should have a good practice of drawing, sketching and on the spot design-solution to clear DAT.

The application fee of NID DAT 2025 for the BDes for General, General-EWS, OBC-NCL candidates is INR 3,000. SC, ST, PwD candidates only ned to pay INR 1,500. However note that the application fees for overseas candidates seeking admission to supernumerary seats is INR 5000. In case of the M.Des programme, the application fees for General, General-EWS, OBC-NCL candidates applying for one discipline is INR 3,000. If two disciplines are chosen, the application fee is INR 6000. Meanwhile, SC, ST, PwD candidate need to pay INR 1,500 for one discipline, and INR 3000 for two disciplines.

Candidates must sit and appear for DAT entrance exam to get admission for BDes course at National Institute of Design, Jorhat .
