The NIFT test is the entrance exam that NIFT Srinagar accepts for admission to the B.Des program. The National Institute of Fashion Technology administers the NIFT, a national design entry test. The test consists of two components and is administered once a year. The GAT and CAT are written tests. While only candidates for the B.Des and M.Des programs must take the CAT, all programs require the GAT test. B. applicants who are shortlisted for further consideration must appear in a Situation Test; PG applicants must appear in a Personal Interview. The B.F.Tech programme is the lone exception, where the entrance merit list will be created

The NIFT Cutoff 2026 has been announced for Round 2 for different categories. During Round 2 cutoffs, the last ranks were 212 - 2430 where Master of Design (M.Des.) was found to be the most difficult course among all courses at National Institute of Fashion Technology, Kannur for the students of General AI category students.
