Yes, both GDPD from NID and B.Des from NIFT are equivalent and both the colleges are two best colleges for design in India.

B.Des is a better course than GDPA.

You should know the basics of drawing at least, rest the details are taught during the course only. IIT is one of the best institutes to do B.Des course because of its recognition.
But, you can apply for these colleges as well:
1. NID - Ahmedabad
2. Symbiosis Institute of Design – Pune.
3. UPES – Dehradun.

No. In order to pursue B.Des, you need to appear for the entrance exam of NIFT after completing class 12th.

For B.Des in DYPDC, you must have to clear your class 12th in any stream. For M.Des, you have to clear your graduation in any stream.
