The subjects included in the first two semesters of the BDes in Communication Design are meant to create a foundational base for the students. Further, from the third semester onwards, the institute offers specialisations in the BDes course. The names of the specialisations are- Graphics, Animation & VFX, UX/ UI, and Game design. Further, the subjects are offered as per the specialisation selected by the student from these mentioned specialisations. Check out the names of the subjects that are common for all specialisations:

For admission to UPES School of Design, candidates must secure valid scores in accepted entrance exams. The school offers admission to BDes on the basis of the minimum aggregate of 50% in Class 10 and Class 12. Candidates must secure valid scores in entrance exams such of NID/ NIFT or candidates national level entrance exams such as UCEED/ JEE Main/ UPES DAT/ CUET or others. After qualifying throught the merit eligibility, candidates will be shortlisted for portfolio presentation and interview. After qualifying all the selection rounds, candidates must pay the fees to confirm the seat.

The IIITDM Jabalpur BDes cutoff for 2025, in Round 3, has been released. The closing rank for the general AI category is 202. Moreover, after comparing the round 3 closing ranks of the same course, they were 170 and 165 in 2024 and 2023, respectively. Therefore, in the year 2025, the rank increases, which reflects that the competition slightly decreases.

As per the information about admission present on the official website of the institute, it explicitly stated that the application forms can be filled out online only. Thus, candidates are required to visit the official website of the institute to fill out the application form. Moreover, the online application process includes multiple steps, such as registration for the course, attaching relevant documents, paying an application fee, etc.

No, aspirants looking forward to pursue BDes at NIFT, Chennai cannot get enrollment without appearing for the entrance exam. The selection criteria for the BDes course at NIFT Chennai is entrance-based. Students are shortlisted based on the scores obtained in The National Institute of Technology (NIFT) exam. Moreover, they must fulfil the preset eligibility criteria and present the relevant documents supporting them. Additionally, the exam is conducted once every year and is further segregated into two parts:
- Written Exams - It comprise GAT and CAT. The GAT paper is mandatory for all programmes, while only BDes

To get admission into the general BDes course and other offered specialisation available at the Jindal School of Design and Architecture, candidates are not required to appear and score in IELTS. However, for the five-year international design course, candidates must have secured an IELTS band of 6.5 with at least 6.5 in writing and no element below 6.0.
