B.Ed Eligibility

Aspirants should have a minimum of 50% aggregate in Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Science or Mathematics  or Social Sciences (History / Geography / Economics / Political Sciences / Psychology / Philosophy / Education / Library) or Humanities (All Languages and Literature) or Commerce from a recognised university to apply for KJ Somaiya School of Education B.Ed programme.

Candidate having a minimum of 55% marks in Bachelor's Degree in Management / Engineering / Computers / Law / Information Technology / Agriculture / BBI / Medical Sciences / Fine Arts / Performing Arts (Music / Dance / Drama etc.) from a recognised university can also apply for B.Ed.

Mewar Institute of Management's Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is a 2 year course offered at the UG level. This course admits 100 students. Candidates who don't have 50% marks in their graduation degree can also pursue a B.Ed course after completing their master's degree - however, the requirement is again 50% marks in graduation. Candidates should also clear one of the top B.Ed entrance exams meant for their chosen college.Candidates must be a graduate/ postgraduate and have secured 50% from a recognised university.

As per the Right to Education (RTE) Act, to get appointed as a teacher in any school in India, a candidate must pass the Teacher Eligiblity Test (TET)/ Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) exam, conducted by the appropriate Government according to the guidelines framed by NCTE.

Before applying to the course, candidates must be aware of the required eligibility criteria for B.Ed colleges in UP. Given below are some of the important eligibility criteria for the B Ed course in BEd colleges in Gwalior:

• Educational Qualification: Candidates need to have completed their graduation in any stream (that is, Arts, Science, or Commerce) to fulfill B Ed eligibility criteria . However, most popular B Ed colleges allow candidates to take part in their admission process for B Ed courses if they have graduated with at least 50-55% aggregate marks at the UG level.
• Age Limit: There is no age bar for B Ed admissions in most colleges. However, some B Ed colleges' admission process requires candidates to be at least 19 years of age.

Candidates satisfying the following requirements shall be eligible to appear for TS EdCET-2021 (CBT) for admission into 2-year BEd Course. Candidates should have passed or appeared for qualifying examination:

• In any Bachelors degree i.e. BA, BCom, BSc, BSc (Home Science), BCA, BBM, BA (Oriental Languages), BBA or in the Masters degree, securing at least 50% aggregate marks.
• Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with 50% aggregate marks or any other qualification.
• However, for candidates belonging to the reserved categories (SC/ ST/ BC) should have secured 40% Marks in the qualifying examination.
• The candidates who are appearing for the final year degree examination shall also be eligible to appear for TS EdCET-202I.
• Candidates possaccing a master degree without having undertaken undergraduate study are not eligible for admission.

The candidate should have completed the age of 19 years as on 191 July of the year in which notification is issued. There shall be no maximum age limit.
