While both courses are undergraduate level, the major difference between them is that a BA in Hotel Management can be pursued by any student irrespective of their stream, while a BSc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration can be pursued only by Science students.

IHM Chennai accepts NCHMCT JEE ranks for admission to BSc courses, followed by counselling. IHM Chennai NCHMCT JEE Cutoff 2025 has been released for Round 1. The cutoff rank was released for B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration for different categories under the AI Quota. For the General AI Category candidates, the cutoff rank stood at 3063. The first round cutoff for the same course was 3609 in 2024 and 3258 in 2023. Considering the Round 1 cutoff ranks over three years, it is evident that the BSc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration saw a fluctuating trend in its closing ranks for the General AI quota.
