B.Sc. is one of the most chosen courses by Indian students who clear 12th from science field.
If you want to precede your career in biotechnology them I will recommend you to go for B.Tech biotech instead of B.Sc.
As in India just after B.Sc. in a particular subject you won't have any opportunity in the particular field until you do Masters or PhD in the following subject.
Therefore I will recommend you to go for B.Sc. general so that you may go for any field after completion of your graduate degree.
Yeah you may apply for some government job like Civil Services, SSC CGL, a lot more but none of these jobs will be related to science.

1) Software
2) Insurance
3) Market research
4) Banking sector
There are also jobs available for these graduates in the government sector. Various exams are conducted by UPSC every year for recruiting these graduates to several posts.Most popular career option after B.Sc mathematics is teaching.
