Both Agricultural Engineering and Food Technology is an excellent field from an educational purpose. However, B.Tech in Agricultural Enginnering is a widely known field hence the competition is higher, making it a challange to get a good placement. 

While B.Tech in Food Technology is a new field and is yet to be known to so many .

After persuing B.Tech in agriculture engineering, one can become an agricultural engineer , crop researcher, microbiologist, plant physiologist and much more.

That is not at all true and misleading. Placements at LPU are great and people are recruited for high positions. This is what is looks like having placed at LPU looks like. Placements: Top recruiting companies are Tata, Rallis India Limited, Syngenta, and Reliance Stores. All batch members got a decent number of internship opportunities. B.Sc. Agri. has a wider scope than B.Tech agri. Engineering. B.Tech agri engineering is a niche specializations. The competition is low but demand is also low. Whereas IN B.Sc. Agri. Competition is high but demand is also high. Pursuing B.Sc. from a reputed college would be more sustainable for career.
