Biotechnology career is not only a white coat laboratory drug developing job. There are so many other opportunities out there. Opportunities range from sales, marketing, research and development, production and distribution, manufacturing, quality control etc. The salary for biotechnologists in India largely depends on knowledge, skills, and experience. At present, there are 12 leading companies with the highest employment rate and salary grade in India. The average annual salary by the leading biotech companies ranges from Rs.2, 29,238 to Rs.8, 28,746 per year. The numbers are projected to double in the future as the demand for biotech graduates increases. As per the latest statistics by government of India, Biotech sector is currently growing at 20% growth rate and is expected to touch USD 100 billion by 2025. The placement here is quite appreciating. Many big companies like Ford, Tata, Reliance, etc. , visit the college for placements. The highest package was from the Ford company with Rs 4.5 LPA. It provides the students with good internships. The highest stipend for internships was Rs. 5000. The college has a dedicated placement cell. Although, 70% students are placed on-campus while others have to go for pool campus rounds which is a drawback and getting lucrative offers becomes next to impossible with such drives. Faculty members and alumni support is provided for soft skills and aptitude preparation, also mock interviews and group discussion are conducted for gaining hands-on experience.

B.Tech course is the better option. Selection will be on the basis of the engineering entrance examination and marks obtained in Plus Two or equivalent examinations in Science subjects. Students who pass the qualifying examination with at least 50 per cent marks in mathematics and as much in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biotechnology, computer Science or biology taken together are eligible to take the entrance examination. A few universities offer a five-year integrated M.Sc. Biotechnology course for plus two students in the Science stream. The biotechnology industry is witnessing good growth worldwide. India will have a competitive advantage in the industry since it is knowledge-intensive. A biotechnologist, depending on the area of specialisation, can find jobs in biotechnology or pharmaceutical companies or in chemical, agricultural, and allied industries. Research institutes and laboratories provide good job opportunities for those with M.Tech and Ph.D. degrees. Teaching is a good option.
