If you want to take admission in IIT's, then your rank should be under 9000 in JEE advance. If you want to take admission in NITs, then your marks should be more than 150 in JEE Mains. And, if you want to take admission in your state engineering colleges, then your marks should be more than 50 in JEE Mains.

Hello Bikash,
Admissions to 3rd semester in BE. It is possible by way of lateral admission process. In this diploma holders are eligible to apply. Some states conduct entrance exam and some give admission based on marks of diploma. So your getting admission depends on procedure adopted by your state.

Hello Aaqil,
The general fee structure for a B.Tech program ranges from Rs 1,75,000-1,98,000 per annum (tuition fees). But in VIT they have categories to admit students. There will be generally 5 categories in which the tuition fees increases by Rs 1 lakh per category.
If your rank is below 5000, then you could avail the general fee structure otherwise you might need to go for the category 2, if not 3 and so on.
So, you need to pay a lot if your rank is higher.

Hello Kartik!
The admission is based on your AIR or category ranks which depend on your score in JEE Mains.
The opening and closing ranks vary every year for every Institute.
