Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. During IIT Roorkee cutoff 2023, the opening rank was 396 and closing rank was 412 for BTech in CSE course for the General All India category students. Cut off are differant when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 164 and 1165. The MIT ADT CSE average package offered during the 2025 placement drive is yet to be published on the official website. However, the average package offered during MIT School of Computing placements 2024 was INR 7.5 LPA.

The highest package of Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute for a BTech course varies from year to year and from branch to branch. The highest package offered in 2022 was INR 10 LPA and in 2021 it was INR 7.5 LPA. The average package received by BTech students was around INR 3.6 LPA. The marks required for BTech in Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute depend on the entrance exam you are appearing for and the category you belong to. The institute accepts JEE Main or MGREEE scores for admission to BTech courses. For JEE Main, you need to obtain a minimum of 75% marks in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects or be in the top 20 percentile of your board. The minimum marks required for OBC and SC/ST categories is 40%.

According to the reviews of the students and alumni, the institute has a good placement record for BTech courses. According to the CSAB 2023 special round cutoff for OBC category, the closing rank for BTech Computer Science and Engineering at Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute was 75,4324.
Therefore, with a 78k OBC rank in JEE Main, you may have a low chance of getting admission to BTech Computer Science and Engineering at Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute.
However, you may have a better chance of getting admission to other branches such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, etc. as they may have lower cutoffs.
