Its not necessary but can be matter. Colleges located in big cities have excellent infrastructure, faculty members and placement opportunities. Like VIT have its four campuses I. e Vellore, Chennai, Andhra Pradesh and Bhopal. Out of these four the Vellore is the highly preferred college in placements. Another example is like IIT-M, IIT-D and IIT-Madras are the first choice of companies in placements.

MBA after B.Tech. Is considered a safe option as most of the time, there is a placement guarantee. A simple undergraduate degree doesn't offer the same benefits. Most importantly, a lot of companies consider MBA graduates over B.Tech ones. You get proper experience in college itself. MBA students are given a lot of practical training or field training with companies that hire them. Companies spend a lot of time and enormous money on training these employees. According to business today, 80% of engineers are not fit for hiring. So pass-outs with a B.Tech degree end up doing nothing.
