Civil engineering is the oldest discipline amongst all branches of engineering, the range and application of civil engineering is the broadest and the most visible. In fact, the entire infrastructural framework of a modern nation is the creation of civil engineers. The credit of building mighty power plants, dams, airports, sea ports, highways, inland waterways and industrial plants goes to civil engineers. These professionals are also engaged in building an unending array of urban structures such as commercial complexes, skyscrapers, tunnels, bridges, roads, urban rapid transport systems, sports stadia and so on. In my opinion you hav

Hello Arpit,It is very nice to know that you want to continue with your education and go for engineering graduation after completion of your Diploma by means of lateral entry. I think you are talking of PSG College and not PGS College of Engineering which is located in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. I am afraid there will be difficulty in getting admission in this college since the admission norms of all almost all the states restrict admission to the students who are to be domicile of that state and you are from Maharashtra. However there is one window of opportunity and it is admission via management quota, but for this you will have to a

Hello Ketan, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology is one of the most sought after colleges for students across India. As a result of this the minimum marks required to get into this institute of pretty high. I think you are from the state of Gujarat and for you it will be further higher since many students will prefer to take admission in this college in Surat. I am attaching a link that will give you all the required information about cutoffs for various branches and for various categories of students for admissions of previous year. Here a word of caution. Every year the ranking of the merit of the student in JEE Mains

Hello Souvik,
The management quota in invariably all the institutes or colleges is defined by most opacity. It is not known clearly as to how much fees do they charge or what are the criteria for giving admissions. Of course the student has to have minimum standards prescribed by the concerned University to get admission but beyond this nothing is known. It is therefore advised that you go with an open mind and take along with you, your best negotiator friend so that he can bargain well with the institute for reducing your fees to the maximum level possible. Best wishes to you.

Hello Jessamma,
You are saying that you have got admission for a B.Tech course, but unfortunately you could not complete this course for some reason. And now, you want to complete this course via correspondence or distance education means. I am afraid what you are seeking is not available. If you had taken admission for a normal course then you have to complete it using the same means, you cannot switch over from normal course to correspondence course. However, what I suggest is that if you are really interested in engineering and for some reason are not able to attend college then abandon this course and start afresh with distance edu
