Yes, BCA is a 3 year technical course and a candidate must pursue this course through regular college and not from distance education. Companies tend to hire those candidates who have done their degree course by taking regular classes/lectures and not of open schooling.

If you are from Science background then B.Tech in CSE or IT should be your top priority. Or if you are from Commerce/Arts background then BCA is the best option as compared to B.Sc. Because BCA is a technical course whereas B.Sc. Is a general course. Therefore, the chances of getting a placement job is relatively higher in BCA than B.Sc. BCA is much better as compared to B.Sc. Because, B.Sc is a general course whereas BCA is a technical course. Getting a job after BCA is relatively easy as compared to B.Sc. As you are not able to pursue B.Tech, then you'll have to work much harder on developing skills and knowledge while pursuing BCA in order to achieve a good career with nice salary package. Later entry is not possible in BCA course. If you want to pursue BCA then you'll have to take admission into BCA from the first year.

I would recommend you to go for JNU, because the current environment in JNU is not ideal for any student. If you are really interested in making your career, then please consider taking admission into other colleges. That's my point of view. It is your choice.

If you want to work in IT Sector, and you are from Science Stream, then you should go for B.Tech in IT or CSE. B.Tech should be your top priority if you want to enter IT Sector or Engineering. If you are from Commerce/Arts Stream and wants to enter into IT Industry then you can do BCA+MCA, as your Graduation and Master degree.
