The majority of universities requires maths as a subject in 10+2 as mandatory eligibility criteria for seeking admission in BCA. Only a few universities such as IGNOU or Symbiosis allows non-maths students to do BCA. Therefore, you can do BCA but your choice of universities/ colleges will be limited.

There is a very small difference among the syllabus of BCA and B.Sc in IT. B.Sc in IT is having more focus on theoretical concepts of computer science whereas BCA syllabus emphasis is on applications development and maintenance. Market acceptance of BCA and B.Sc IT is similar. Both degree holders will have done PG for a meaningful career in IT industry.

Hi Jordan,
Techno India is a decent college but I won't recommend it for pursuing BCA. Try some other college outside WB. KIIT would be a good option

B.Sc and BCA are the same levels of educational qualification. You are eligible to appear for Civil Services examination conducted by UPSC after doing either B.Sc or BCA. Computer science is not a subject under Mains optional papers in the exam. Therefore, you are advised to do B.Sc and choose any of subject such as physics, chemistry, maths etc. to appear in the exam.
