BDS is not easy and for it, you need a good knowledge in science subjects. BDS has many subjects like anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, pathology, and special dental subjects like oral surgery, prosthodontics, and orthodontics.

In BDS, students learn difficult concepts, practice clinical skills, and treat different dental problems. course is hard and need careful work and attention. But if you study hard, stay dedicated, and love field, many students finish it and feel happy with their career.

A BDS is not inherently a government job, but BDS graduates have the option to pursue government jobs in the healthcare sector. Many government hospitals, clinics, and health organizations hire dentists with a BDS degree to work in public healthcare facilities, offer dental care in government-run programs, or serve in public health initiatives. 

Additionally, government jobs for dentists are available in the armed forces, dental colleges, or as part of public health services. 

The BDS course typically lasts for 5 years in most countries, including India. The BDS course is divided into academic years, with the first few years focusing on basic medical sciences, dental anatomy, and pre-clinical training. 

The later years of the BDS course emphasize clinical practice, where students gain hands-on experience in diagnosing and treating dental conditions under supervision. After completing the five years, BDS course graduates must also undergo a one-year internship to gain practical experience before they can practice as dentists.

BDS graduates can opt for various certificate courses to enhance their skills and specialize in specific areas of dentistry. BDS Certificate courses focus on practical training and advanced techniques, enabling dentists to provide specialised treatments.

After completing a BDS course, students can pursue Diploma courses to enhance their skills and specialisation in specific fields. Diploma in BDS courses typically focus on practical training and advanced techniques, preparing graduates for specialised roles in dental clinics, hospitals, or independent practices. 

It will be next to impossible to get admission to an MBBS in a government college with a score of 394 in NEET because the cut-offs for government medical colleges are usually much higher than this. But there is still some chance of getting admission in BDS, as the cut-off for dental courses is usually lower.

This would improve in case one belongs to any reserved category (SC/ST/OBC). One can also check with private colleges for MBBS or BDS, as this would have a cut-off much lower than that for government colleges. All India and state counseling should also be given a shot to have a better chance.

The BDS students at this College of Dental Sciences get an average placement package of Rs 3 to 5 Lacs per annum. The above pay structure may differ with the type of organization, place, experience, or skills of the applicant. Graduates find employment at private dental practices and clinics, in corporate hospitals or at dental clinics.
