Selection to the Ph.D. in Biological Sciences at NISER is through fulfilling the education requirement and national exam performances, such as GATE, JEST, GPAT, CSIR NET, or ICMR JRF. These shortlisted candidates have to face a written test and/or interview.
To be eligible for the Ph.D. program, candidates need a Master's degree with 55% marks in related fields. Alternatively, a four-year Bachelor's degree with 75% marks can also be considered. Besides meeting the cut-off marks in the entrance exam, applicants must also score a minimum mark in each subject. Online applications are submitted via the NISER website.

The Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL) does not have a dedicated placement cell for undergraduate students. However, the institute provides placements for postgraduate students. Alumni of SSSIHL may help students secure placements in good companies.
