Those who have qualified their 10+2 examination in the stream of Science or any equivalent examination with at least three of the subjects from amongst Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics and Information Technology at the intermediate level with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks and above can avail for admission. You are eligible for both courses.

If you want to join a course in biotechnology then you must have a science background. Some universities offer B.Sc biotechnology which one can join after class 12 with physics, chemistry and mathematics. Graduates in all sciences, engineering technology and medicine are eligible for the postgraduate (M.Sc.) course in biotechnology.

Eligibility criteria for admission in Loyola College (LC, Chennai) for pursuing B.Sc advanced zoology and biotechnology is:
Candidate must have passed 10+2 with the following subjects:
1. Biology 2. Physics 3. Chemistry 4. Any Other, OR
1. Zoology 2. Botany 3. Physics 4. Chemistry / Biotechnology

For B.Tech biotechnology, you need to have your intermediate degree with one subject as biology. Also, you need to have 60% marks in both matric and intermediate.
