GAT-B 2025: The National Testing Agency released the GAT-B 2025 and BET 2025 results on the official website. Candidates can download their scorecard now. For GAT-B 2025, around 10,417 candidates had registered for the exam, out of which 8891 candidates appeared for the exam. On the other hand, for the BET exam 2025, around 17,932 candidates registered, out of which 13,272 candidates appeared for the exam. The BET exam was held on May 13 and the GAT-B exam was held on April 20. The BET and GAT-B provisional answer key with question paper and recorded responses has been released. The last date to raise objections against the BET 2025 provisional answer key was May 22 (11:50 pm)

GAT-B, or Graduate Aptitude Test, is a National-Level Entrance Examination that offers admission to the Department of Biotechnology (postgraduate programmes in Biotechnology, which include - MSc Biotechnology and allied areas, such as MTech Biotechnology and allied areas -MSc Agricultural Biotechnology and MVSc Animal Biotechnology. The counselling dates and cutoff details will be updated soon on the website. 

The GAT-B 2025 exam dates have been announced. The exam was held on April 20, 2025 (10 am to 1:00 pm), and the BET exam was held on May 13, 2025 (10:00 am to 1:00 pm). Both exams are conducted online (three hours duration). 

The NTA GAT-B 2025 is a computer-based test conducted for three hours, comprising two sections- A (10+2 level Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) and B (MCQs of Graduate/Bachelor's level in subjects, such as Biology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology and allied areas). The GAT-B section "A" comprises 60 questions, and Section "B" contains 100 questions. Candidates can check the BET exam pattern below. What is GAT-B?

GAT-B was earlier known as JNU CEEB. The Graduate Aptitude Test-Biotechnology (GAT-B)/Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) is a National Level Entrance Examination for admission to the Department of Biotechnology supported Post Graduate Programme in Biotechnology and allied areas in participating Institutions (GAT-B) and for the award of DBT – Junior Research Fellowship (DBT-JRF) for pursuing research in frontier areas of Biotechnology (BET).

Based on the Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET), two categories of merit lists are prepared (Category-I and Category-II). Category I candidates can avail of the fellowship [JRF] at any recognized university/institution across India, where the candidate enrols for a PhD.Programme. Category II candidates can be appointed in any DBT-sponsored project with a fellowship equivalent to NET/GATE qualification as per current DST guidelines and/or enrol in a PhD programme. 

The exam is conducted to offer admission to aspirants in Biotechnology programs offered by the JNU and other participating colleges. Courses in which candidates can secure admission based on their ranks in the exam are: 

  • MTech Biotechnology/allied sciences.
  • MSc Biotechnology. 
  • MSc Agriculture Biotechnology. 
  • M.V.Sc. Animal Biotechnology.

GAT B 2025 Result

The National Testing Agency has announced the GAT-B and BET 2025 results on its official website after the completion of the exam. The GAT-B exam was conducted on April 20, 2025. Candidates who have appeared for the exam can check their GAT-B exam results at dbt.nta.ac.in. To check the results, candidates must provide their application number and date of birth/password. Candidates qualified for the GAT-B 2025 exam will be eligible to participate in the counselling process. Last year, a total of 9957 candidates appeared for the exam conducted by the National Testing Agency.

How to Check GAT-B Exam City Intimation 2025?

The GAT-B 2025 exam city intimation slip was released on April 13. The BET 2025 advanced exam city intimation slip was released on May 6. Candidates have to follow the steps given below to know the city in which their GAT-B 2025 exam centre is located, prior to the release of the admit card. 

  • Visit the official website. 
  • Login through the Application Number and Password/Date of Birth. 
  • Enter Security Pin. 
  • Click on the Sign-in tab. 
  • The exam city details will appear on the screen. 

Candidates are advised to check their photo, signature, and QR code in the GAT-B 2025 city intimation slip. If any of the above details are missing, they can redownload it. Also, it must be noted that the city intimation slip is not the admit card for GAT-B. This is an advance information for the allotment of the city where the examination will be conducted. Candidates must check the examination center details to make travel accommodations prior to the exam.

GAT B 2025 Admit Card

National Testing Agency has released the GAT-B/BET admit card 2025 on the official website. Applicants appearing on the exam can download the GAT-B admit card using their application number, password, and date of birth. Candidates appearing in the exam must carry their GAT-B 2025 admit card and one valid photo ID proof at the exam center. After downloading the GAT-B admit card 2025, candidates are advised to check all the details mentioned. In case of any mistake in GAT-B admit card, applicants are advised to contact the exam authorities for corrections.

GAT-B 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are advised to go through BET and GAT-B 2025 eligibility criteria before filling in the application form, as those who do not satisfy the criteria will not be considered for admission. Given below are the criteria for each exam that candidates can check: 

GAT-B 2025 Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must be citizens of India. 
  • Candidates must have completed a Bachelor's degree program from a recognized university in either of the fields, i.e., Biological, Physical, Veterinary and Fishery Sciences, Agriculture, Pharmacy, Engineering/Technology, 4-year BSc (Physician Assistance Course), or Medicine (MBBS) or BDS. 
  • Candidates must have scored 60 per cent aggregate in a Bachelor's Degree (55 per cent for reserved category candidates). Candidates appearing for the qualifying examinations are eligible to apply. 
  • Candidates should be 28 years of age as of the last date of application. There is a relaxation of age limit up to five years for the reserved category candidates, i.e., 33 years and up to three years for women candidates, i.e., 31 years. 

BET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have completed a bachelor's (BE/BTech/MBBS) and master's (MSc/MTech/MVSc/MPharm/Integrated MSc/MTech) in any discipline of Life sciences or Biotechnology or any other allied areas of Biology. 
  • Applicants in the final year or awaiting the result of the final semester can also apply for the BET exam.
  • Candidates must have acquired a minimum qualifying percentage of 60% (for general, EWS, or OBC category) and 55% (for SC/ST/PwD category)
  • Candidates should be 28 years of age as of the last date of application. There is a relaxation of the age limit up to five years for the reserved category candidates, i.e., 33 years and up to three years for women candidates, i.e., 31 years.

GAT B 2025 Application Form

NTA has released the GAT-B 2025 information brochure along with the GAT-B application form. The application window is now closed. Candidates had to complete the GAT-B application form 2025 online at dbt.nta.ac.in. All students must fill in every detail carefully to avoid any discrepancies. Candidates can follow the steps below to fill out the GAT-B 2025 application form. The last date to submit the NTA GAT-B application form was March 3, 2025. The correction facility for GAT-B was available from March 5 to 6, 2025

Step-1: GAT-B Registration 2025: Candidates have to fill in the online GAT-B application form at the official website by entering their various details, such as their names, date of birth, email ID, mobile number, etc. After a successful GAT-B registration, candidates will get an application/registration number. 

Step-2: Filling details in the GAT-B application form: Candidates must complete their personal, educational and communicational details. 

Step-3: Uploading documents: In the next step, applicants must upload the required documents in the application form per the specifications.    

Step-4: Fee Payment: Candidates must make payments online after logging in through the official website. Candidates can pay via Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking.

The GAT-B 2025 application form fee is INR 1300/- (for General-UR/OBC-NCL/EWS category) and INR 650/- for (SC/ST/PwD) candidates. 

BET 2025 Application Form

NTAhad released the BET 2025 application form on the official website on February 28, 2025.The BET MTech 2025 application form's last date was March 28 (11:50 pm), and the correction facility is available from March 30 to 31. Registrations are conducted online. The correction facility window for BET was available till March 31, 2025. Correction facilities for GAT B application form is over. The application process is the same as that of GAT-B. The BET 2025 application form fee is INR 1300/- (for General-UR/OBC-NCL/EWS category) and INR 650/- for (SC/ST/PwD) candidates.

GAT B 2025 Exam Pattern

NTA has released the GAT-B 2025 exam pattern along with the official notification. Applicants appearing in the exam are advised to refer to the GAT-B exam pattern for their preparations. The exam pattern comprises a number of questions, marking scheme, duration, and others. The question paper will have two parts. 

GAT-B 2025 exam comprises of 2 sections namely: Section A and section B. The exam was held on April 20 (10 am to 1 pm). 

Section A: This section will have 60 compulsory multiple choice questions of 1 mark each. There will be negative marking and for each incorrect response, 0.5 mark will be deducted from the total marks.

Section B: This section will have 100 multiple-choice questions, each worth 3 marks. Candidates need to attempt only 60 questions out of the 100. There will be negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer.

BET 2025 Exam Pattern

The Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) will be conducted in one session on May 13, 2025 (10:00 am to 1:00 pm). The exam duration is three hours. The BET will be conducted online, and the medium of the question paper is English. The BET 2025 question paper is divided into two sections -

  • Section “A” comprises 50 MCQs of 10+2 level in subjects - General Science, Mathematics, Chemistry, General Aptitude, Quantitative Ability and General Biotechnology. Each question carries one mark with a negative marking of -1 for an incorrect response. 
  • Section “B” will comprise 150 questions (MCQs) in specific areas of Biotechnology, and the candidate must attempt at least 50 questions. Each question carries three marks, with a negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer.

GAT B 2025 Syllabus

Candidates need to be fully aware of the GAT B and BET syllabus before filling out the GAT B application form.
