B.Tech degree in Biotechnology encompasses both the biological sciences aswell as the engineering aspect of Biotechnology. The B.Tech curriculum will cover life sciences subjects such as Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Cell Biology etc and engineering subjects like Bioprocess Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Thermodynamics, Mass Transfer etc.A BSc degree on the other hand focuses more on the biological sciences aspect of Biotechnology. Hi Gayathri,
After doing your B.Tech in Biotechnology, you can either choose to do a post graduate degree in the area of Biotechnology, if you are interested in Research. On the other hand you could also look into doing a management degree if you are looking at a Management post in the industry (eg Pharmaceutical Industry).
If you prefer to go down the technical research route, then you first need to get a post graduate degree –an M.Tech degree would be preferable. There are many universities that you could look at.
