A pass in higher secondary examination or its equivalent is mandatory with 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Hence, Maths is not required.
Biotechnology is mainly a research oriented education. If you have a plan to do research then M.sc and P.hd is a very good choice.
Apart from that these days there are many career scopes as well.
there is a great demand for biotechnical experts in countless industries and sectors. The following are applications where biotechnological techniques are used extensively:

B.Tech degree in Biotechnology encompasses both the biological sciences aswell as the engineering aspect of Biotechnology. The B.Tech curriculum will cover life sciences subjects such as Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Cell Biology etc and engineering subjects like Bioprocess Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Thermodynamics, Mass Transfer etc.A BSc degree on the other hand focuses more on the biological sciences aspect of Biotechnology.
