The candidate should have passed their 10+2 examination or equivalent from any recognised board. They should get at least 50 percent aggregate marks in the qualifying exam. Admission is done primarily through the marks secured in 12th. However, if the candidates are short-listed, they are sometimes required to undergo Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

It is necessary that all the integrated BSc + MSc aspirants fulfil the course-specific eligibility requirements. The applications of only the eligible students is considered valid. Students who are Class 12 or equivalent examination pass from a recognised board with a minimum of 60% aggregate are eligible to apply for the integrated programme. For admission to BIT Mesra MSc Geoinformatics course, aspirants shall hold a valid BSc degree or equivalent in the relevant specialisation. Candidate should have passed the degree course from a recognised university. Moreover, the qualifying exam should have been passed with at least 55% aggregate (50% for SC/ST category candidates).
