At BIT Mesra, the Department of Hotel Management & Catering Technology presently offers a four-year (8 Semester) Bachelors Degree in Hotel Management & Catering Technology (BHMCT). This programme is approved by AICTE. The program lays emphasis on practical application of theoretical lessons through training, laboratory work, hands on workshops, theme parties, projects and study tours. To have a real life experience of Industry students go on "Industrial Exposure Training" for 6 months in various Star Hotels.
Other Programmes:
The Department provides Training & Consultancy services in various aspects of Hospitality & Tourism. Various Short term Training programmes and Seminars are organised from time to time. It conducts six-month certificate course in Accommodation Operation for the students sponsored by Department of Welfare, Govt. of Jharkhand.

B.Sc in animation and multimedia is offered at BIT Noida and BIT Jaipur. Keeping in mind the rapidly increasing demand of creative animation talent and content in the national as well as the international market, in 2005 the Department of Animation & Multimedia was established at BIT's Noida campus and later at Jaipur. Continuously been rated as the best school of Animation Studies in the NCR Region and rated along with IDC, IIT- Bombay, FTII, Pune and NID, Ahmedabad by the Hindustan Times following a survey done by the C4 forum, this academic programme on Animation Studies is a unique blend of art and technology that has been designed by the best minds of the field.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at BIT-Mesra was established in the year 1983 and is now recognised as one of the leading departments with infrastructure and facilities to match the very best in the country. The department remains committed towards its mission, which is twofold. One is to provide students with the fundamental knowledge and problem-solving skills in computer science required for a fulfilling career. The other goal is to create and disseminate knowledge to improve Computer Science research, education and practice.
